3D Realms's Prey

Well this being a nice sunday...day I decided to give a game a shot that I got, called Prey, a FPS that came out in 2006.

The game is interesting where you play a charokee who is an arrogant whiner trying to get his gf to move away from the reservation because life is better 'else where' or whatever.

I found it interesting where most games you have a smart ass or a egotistic hero, or even just a badass none talking killer in FPS, but this one is different, where through this game I wanted to smack him, especially when his grandfather was trying to help him, I was waiting for this dialog:

Grandfather: It is time for you to learn the ways of the charokee.
Tommy: Grandfather, I dont have time, I have to go save jen.
Grandfather: there is more at stake here, the whole world is in danger.
Tommy: I don't care, send me back I nmust save Jen.
Grandfather: You fucking moron, are you too stupid to see that the whole world is going to be gone.
Tommy: I must save Jen!
Grandfather: God dammit, my grandson is a moron, we are all doomed because my grandson cares more for his bed buddy than humanity, great spirit helps us.

Anyway, besides the whining, this game was really good expecially on detail of the ship and the use of portals when you easily end up in different places. And the use of the charokee powers was definate a plus.

The only problem that got annoying fast was the ships, flying around is fun, but when you have to fly, get off and do something, jump back on and fly, over and over, it gets tiring.

The story in itself is really good, and ima spoil it for anyone who reads this, so stop now if you plan on playing it. But the story was your typical love story; tommy, jen, grandfather gets abducted, some how tommy gets free, watches grandfather die, grandfather helps him find jen, he find jen, jen gets abducted again, he finds jen again, jen becomes a part of a horrible monster who trys to kill him, he kills the monster, forced to kill his love, becomes angry and kills all the bad guys. Typical love story...

Tho it would be nice if someone can explain the damn ending, how the fuck does his body live after he he throws himself and the ship into the sun?

Well, the game was good, took me 8 hours to beat (yes cheating)... Just reduce the amount of on ship off ship crap and give the hero some more balls and then this game would be damn good...
