My Life: Wired

My Blog Post "Properly Setting Up CrashPlan For WHS" was featured on MSWHS.com. I was kind of surprised that no one mentioned a method like mine to backing up their shares the "Microsoft Approved" way, so I thought I would submit it to Philip over there in hopes to helping someone out who has crashplan, and is as paranoid as me.

Considering all the topics on backing up WHS remotely, getting a good method to access the shares correctly was time consuming. Who knows how long I spent, but it was over a course of a few weeks reading blogs and going through technical documents and how-to's on command prompt commands. When I finally got the idea of how to do it, I spent a good hour or two troubleshooting.

It was time consuming and not something for those who lack patience (though I think most computer nerds carry a lot of patience for technology, like me). So, Stating it again, I hope that guide will help someone, and eleminate the amount of digging I did. But I did post it on forums too, so I assumed most Crashplan users would have seen it.

For those who are not familiar with mswhs.com, it is a great site if you have a Windows Home Server or planning on getting one. I am subscribed to it and I would definitely recommend it to other users as Philip posts different tips and tricks, add-ins, and reviews. So even if you're just curious about Windows Home Server, that website can show you just how great it is, and how customizable it can be.

Anyway, check out the post over at MSWHS.com.
