My Life: Wired

A Derrrrrrrr

5.16.2010

It's about 10:30pm right now and I have been staring at my website like a mindless idiot. These past few days have been nothing short but interesting, I mean with that fact that I spent majority of the time in bed because I wasn't feeling so hot.

I have been staring at my website, I think because I am in 'coding mode' where I am contemplating on how I can make things more efficient on this website. Unfortunately I have so many lines of code, I am not sure exactly where to start. Either that or I am still recovering from spewing my brains out, thanks to some minor food poisoning.

Anyway, moving on... I decided instead of continuing the zombie stare, I would post a little update, since I think this next week is going to get a little busy. There has been a lot of thought about what is going to happen with my future considering that I am at a standstill in my life due to the job market. I have been looking at things lately, and one thing I wished I did was finish my minor in computer science, because it seems that industry is going good. The problem was that I was one class short, and I actually tried taking the class, but the school canceled it on me, because there wasn't enough students.

That of course meant one of three things I could do. I could wait until next fall to take it (since they only offered it in fall) hoping that it wouldn't get canceled again, I could take two other computer science classes and get a minor, but that would really be pushing my work load, or I can just drop my minor all together. Now obviously I elected to drop my minor, so any chance of getting that is gone. What I should have done though is signed up for the minor right when I changed majors. Oh well...

So now the question is, what do I do now? I have been pushing for positions, but there is a strong part of me that wants to jump to more of a IT position. I have nothing to show for it, unless I don't mind making less than when I was working through college. One thing I could do though is find some sort of mix, as Cal State Fullerton does offer some interesting extended education programs. The problem though is I am already living on my reserves, so dropping a good amount of cash might make me go starving. Hmmmm, what a pickle...

Of course, I could go into web development, tho, that would require me to learn a lot more things that I wouldn't really have interest in... like flash.
