Another Email Address Deleted
As I have posted in my blog about having too many email addresses. I have finally been able to delete the account linked to the Nexon account. Wow, it was a pain in the ass. As some of you may know of Nexon, it is a online gaming service that specializes on 'free' MMORPGs. The one I got addicted to was MapleStory, a simple cartoon/anime 2D MMORPG based in your basic nights/warriors/thiefs era, though they have a lot of modern themes. I have to admit it was a fun game while I was on it, playing under the name 'DamionKight'. I actually got addicted to the game where I bought some NX (cash) cards to customize my character.
It was around October/November of 2007 that I was playing heavily. It was a good game to get my mind off the stress of working at Bank of America. I even met a fellow player kc10er who also had a lot of free time on his hands and got addicted. We played, chatted, when on a few missions. It was good times for sure. The problem with the game is that it began to take forever to level, and I got bored of it quickly. So I stopped playing it for some time, and then jumped back on when I convinced Duc and Joel to play. That didn't last long, and once again I stopped playing it. Every now and then I would like to jump on for a few minutes and play, but nothing as heavy as before.
Where am I going with this... Well, when I first signed up some 3 years ago, it asks for your email, like any account registration page. At that time I was in-between 'handles' because I finished the Sekond projekt, so I was trying to figure a new name for myself, and I decided to try 'teknikal' thus that became my email address, and used that to sign up to Nexon with. Well, Teknikal didn't work out, I can't remember why exactly, I think I tainted it too quickly (don't ask) so I was once again lost for a new handle, which didn't occur until sometime in 2008 when I started Projekt: Wired and came with the handle 'Daniel Wired'.
Well, I can just change my email on nexon right? wrong. Nexon has tighter security than most banks. Actually it has the tightest system I have seen, where you're not allowed to change your email AT ALL (yet you can change your name?) So I was stuck with that email as long as I had that Nexon account (yes I tried contacting their support to change it, they won't change it that way either). So here I am, dying to get rid of that email address, yet every now and then I like to jump on MS and play for a bit.
Honest truth was that I would play maybe like 30 minutes a year or so... and I didn't like it every time I went on, because not only would I have to re-download the game (it's huge), I would also have to get use to all the new changes. Annoying, and I would get bored of it quickly because all of my friends I had on there were pretty much gone and moved on, and of course it took forever to level still. So I decided to move on as well. Of course I had to archive the game in my storage, pretty much recorded my last hours on the game while I began deleting everything.

*sadface
Now after I finally got all that done with, gave away all my mesos and whatnot to some lucky fool, and deleted my characters, I moved on to notifying Nexon to delete my account. I figured it would be an easy process, just submit a ticket and be done with it... yeah, not so much. I submitted my ticket May 23rd, and began submitting duplicate tickets at weekly intervals, until they deleted my duplicates... 3 weeks in, I finally got a email from a GM to submit my account info (which I already submitted in the ticket), bloody hell... After submitting that form twice, and responding to the ticket WITH my information again, they finally closed it, a freakin month after I put the ticket in. Funny, GMs will so quickly delete duplicate tickets, but not so much delete accounts.
In other words, Nexon customer support sucks, but at least I got it over with and can move on now.
So then, now I am down to only having one obsolete account, which I will probably delete soon, who knows :)
