My Life: Wired

Oh shit, this is going to be crazy... I have been playing around with other systems trying to figure out the best method of replacing WHS since it is dated and I need a new system. With the fact that Microsoft decided to bend over every home user, we can only hope they will react to the outcry (which I doubt) or work with 3rd party to create something similar, the only problem is that it will either be closed where you have to buy the system (i.e. HP) or drop some extra cash just for a similar capability. I don't get why Microsoft hasn't jumped the ball and implemented this kind of technology in a new file system. NTFS is great, but still dated.

Anyway, i'm poking around Linux and FreeBSD for something, ZFS and Greyhole is sparking my interest. If they can handle usb hard drives... this might just work, and i might be set... or lose everything, since this is the first time really playing with linux and BSD. Also have to make sure crashplan works well with them... sigh...

btw, Happy Turkey Day everyone.

P.S. I really hate it when people refer to Microsoft as M$
