Email regarding what I wanted for christmas

Ok, here I am writing you kids an email to explain what I am looking for as a Christmas list. I could just give you a list, but I feel I need to go into detail talking a lot of nonsense to explain reason behind it because I know you really don't care, which makes it more fun. Also gives me a reason to ramble for no reason.

I have set pretty much my free time at nights trying to figure out what I want for christmas, and I have to tell you it hasn't been easy... Actually, it's been damn hard, I think this is because I feel I have everything I need or even want. Not to mention I spend all of my energy trying to figure out your gifts (where's my list? and no mom, that list you gave me doesn't count :p )

So what do I want? I could say "world peace" or "end world hunger" but we all know that is just something models say to just look compassionate and well-rounded before they shove a pound of coke up their nose and then stab their competition in the back.

I guess I could ask for a new Mustang GT Premium, but I think $31k is out of the price range (and I don't think I would even take it, that's just too big of a damn gift I tell you!) That and I don't need a toy model.

So I guess it is time to sit down, cut the crap, and tell you what I want... atleast what I was able to pull out (somewhere). So shall we begin?

As we all know I am at that point in life were I start to notices changes, changes meaning that I am growing up and I will no longer be a child, but a grown man, of course I am talking about moving out of Dad's. Since it seems that this will be happening (much) sooner than I originally expected, I could use money for my house fund, as it seems hard for me to save enough since my time has been cut dramatically (and I like everyone else in America, doesn't seem to ever make enough).

Another small niche of mine, as I would think both of you know is how much I love money. Not in a "crazy greedy embezzle to pay for things I dont need" way, but more just of how money works and whatnot. So I would also like stocks or cash to invest in some sort of investments, that way I can just watch it move around and disappear in this crap economy.. but at least I might learn something from it, like how to invest. I do have a Brokerage account with Schwab if that means anything.

Hmmm... or maybe even pay down my car loan... so I guess money or stocks or investments are good... (except bonds and treasuries)

Next we come to the actual... items... This was the hardest part...

I may have mentioned about how I want to build a server, how I was waiting for Microsoft to finally release their second version of Windows Home Server so that I can start building. But yet, they decided to bend all of us proud users of WHS over and remove one of the key items, allowing us to add drives when needed. Well, I could just (begin LEET SPEEK) build a server running Windows Server 2008 R2, and do a RAID-5 array as I originally planned before I experienced WHS Drive extender, but the cost to build one, and the amount of time to maintain it would just be horrible. God knows how much data i would accidently lose. So I found the next best thing, which a lot of people who were WHS fans are moving to, it's called Drobo S which is a simple file server that can manage 5 drives easily... With this I probably could drop the server all together.

Since we are on the topics of computers, I could use another larger monitor. Not sure if I would replace my samsung with it (god I hate samsung so much) or just replace my other smaller monitors with it. I could use a 24"+ monitor. And please, prefer a minimum display of 1920x1200, I hate that 1080 junk. Just need your basic monitor, no HDTV or anything, just something to plug into the computer :)

I have also thought of redoing my hard drive configuration on my computer. As in, go Solid State, since it's crazy how fast computer run on it. but I would have to go drastic on it. In other words, I would probably want like three 128gb SSD so I can raid-0 them... Actually... forget it... too pricey... and picking out hard drives is like picking out underwear... its a personal (and could be a sexy) thing.

So with the move and all, I am kind of worried about my new toys that I bought, aka my turntables, so a nice coffin would be good to bury them in... I mean, one that would be easy to ship, protect and move them around in. I think the term is 'ata rated' I saw a few that looked good for what I was looking for, but its like walking in the dark as I have no idea what i would look for. Just one to fit and protect both my tables and my 5 channel mixer.

Finally... I have noticed that my body is dying on me... I mean, my back hurts, my hair is falling out, my eye sight is getting worse and worse... yet my hearing is still acute. So to catch it up with the rest of my body, I believe a system for my car would help. I am thinking a 10" sub would work. Now I have never had any kind of system in my car, so hell if I know what I need. So a Packaged system for my car would be great, with installation, so I can just be like "here" and then go "yay"... I just want something with a good kick and good sound... don't need no crazy ish that will cause me to bump 50 cent down white suburban neighborhoods.

Okay then, I believe that is it. Oh wait... the small stufffffff. I am flexible on this stuff, but I usually like things I can use. specifically? who knows, gift cards are ok, though kind of boring. I do like music CDs (hence Compact Disc! NOT ITUNES CARD! i'll go fabulous before I install itunes on my computer, plus why would I pay to download music?) anyway, I like music CDs because I can rip them to FLAC, I tend to like the compilation CDs of crap I have no idea about. And that is really any electronic music. From Trance to downtempo, ambient, to breakbeat. I like to try new things, found some good artists that way. ummm.... I dunno what other things I need... i'm trying to cut down on "stuff" cuz I might move soon, and want less things to deal with...

Besides all that, I am at a lost of what I want or need. Oh, a PC tablet is also something I always wanted (like laptop tablet, not the ipad tablet)... but honestly don't know when i would use it. Would give me a reason to go to starbucks and be like all those cool kids hanging out there on their computers...

That's the best I could come up with, atleast for now... but I hope I give some sort of idea on what i'm looking for. And I hope you enjoyed reading me ramble on as much as I enjoyed writing this lengthy email. I mean I could JUST given you that list... but what fun would that have been?

Anyway, if all fails, run out of time, or everything is too expensive, the house fund is always the best, even if it is a little, cuz that is probably one of my biggest stresses right now. So you got 16 days left, I probably should have given this list weeks ago... or better yet, two weeks from now :)

Ugh, I am tired, been working on this email since I got home from work (8pm after a 11 hour work day). Can't wait for Christmas to spend time with my favorite ladies in the world. So goodnight, love you both :)
